That AAMC study and the LSAC study also come from the test makers, fwiw. The MCAT piece you should read all the way to the end. Again, of course they don't tell the whole story, but they are predictive.
I'm not sure if you've taken any of these tests, I've taken three of them. The critical thinking skills on the LSAT and MCAT are essential when you actually get to law school and med school. They certainly don't tell the whole story. As for the GRE, SAT and ACT, I agree with you completely.

I assure you that not a single, legitimate HBS student looks at this certificate as an HBS degree. This option is designed for CEOs and ownera running a $10MM+ company, and isn't a business school so much as a finishing school. It's also like three weeks.
This is only true for SOME tests but not for all. The GMAT, LSAT and MCAT are highly predictive and statistically correlated to success in first year/licensure exams.
