That car was obliterated and the Sheriff's office says "speed was a factor". If you're even a cursory appreciator of physics, it's obvious that, unless this car exploded on its own, it exploded due to high-speed impact. His death is certainly sad for those who knew him, but it is not at all a tragedy. If his death is

I lived about 70 miles from a true sundown town. I had no idea those things were real until I moved from the Northeast. I'm going to check out this book.

I saw him speak at my school a few days ago and my issue with him isn't that he isn't an eloquent orator, it's that he's just not as smart as he thinks he is/wishes he was.

I'm also Jewish and lived in the deep South for several years and while my head wasn't checked for horns, I met dozens of college-educated people who had never met a Jewish person, thought that "jewed" as in "I jewed him out of $100" was an actual word, and thought that Jews didn't believe in God. So yeah, it's real.

There's a difference between "messy" and "unclean". Kids who are foul-smelling and actually dirty need parental intervention (not via a nasty note, mind you.) If a kid in your class is actually filthy and smells when he comes IN, there is a problem at home that needs addressing. Social services need to be contacted.

I am pursuing an MPH right now and love my program. My focus is also on rural healthcare access and I hope to use that, along with medical school (applying next year) to work on providing better health outcomes to people with lack of access to quality care.

You are not! Not all women can, and that's ok. You tried, you obviously would still if you could. Your baby will be healthy and happy and intelligent and loved.

I take it back, you're not imitating, you're an actual idiot.

Well, my sarcasm meter must be broken today. Your imitation of a blithering idiot is spot on.

Welcome to Jezebel! Let us show you the Internet!

Ditto on the "eat a bag of dicks" to all those people being super-extra-shitty to you.

1/2. My undergrad was in physics, but then went to law school. Now studying public health at MA level with focus on rural health access. I'm applying to med school.

Please continue spouting off on the internet about things you know nothing about, it's ok, I'm sure you're a great mother!

"then you"

But that's a legitimately beautiful gift. I would have loved a painting of my dogs. But you don't show up to things and don't send/bring a gift. The only exception I can think of is if your travels/costs were beyond nominal and even then, a thoughtful card is a minimum.

Even under the loosest definition, how is Amy Winehouse an icon? I enjoy her music and think she was very talented, but an icon? Really?

Code academies! Many of them offer reduced rates and scholarships to women who want to break into the field.

Not a musician, but I went to see a professional choir perform last week and it was such an emotional, lovely experience. You were good enough to study opera in school, you should share your gift because you can make a lot of people happy.

That *you're* comfortable with? Do you even understand these ingredients or are you just quoting internet bullshit?

I hope you're on your way to a full recovery. It's unconscionable what's been allowed to happen over there.
