"So a dude had to hold it open and they had to barrel in against the strong wind blowing out."

First Erykah Badu for Givenchy now this... I'm loving this trend.

Which I believe is also why AHS enters itself as a miniseries rather than a drama come Emmy time.

"neither Angela Bassett nor Gabourey Sidibe have their names in the opening credits of AHS:Coven"

That's what I read elsewhere, that it's for award purposes - spreading the chances for more members of the cast to win in multiple categories.

Great point about Latinos, especially on network shows. But to be fair, I remember the complaint Shonda Rhimes made about Bunheads and she just wanted *any* POC on the show so she'd feel okay about her kids watching it. Or am I remembering it wrong?

There are more males than females in the United States

You can only have so many actors in the opening credits of a TV show (same reason Busy Philipps was credited as "also starring" on Freaks and Geeks, which I know is a dated example but it's the only one coming to mind at the moment). AHS chooses to give those spots to its repertory cast who appear on every season,

Most of the people who post here and online about racial disparity in media are looking for social justice cred and approbation, and talking about the lack of a black presence in Hollywood is worth far more brownie points than talking about the absence of Asians or Latinos, despite the latter discrepancies being far

That's because race in the United States is still treated as a black and white issue.

you forgot gangbanger. you can't watch an episode of csi without at least one tattooed latin gang member.

I have no idea why that is.

And I'm not disagreeing with you, but around the web I see a lot of articles about African Americans lacking in media representation (and I'm not saying those articles are wrong), but almost no articles about Hispanic and Latino representation. It just seems like an odd disconnect, given that the latter group is a

I didn't realize that, but it still has everything to do with their contracts and not what they look like.

I'm pretty sure that has more to do with the fact that they are recurring characters and not considered main cast since they haven't been in past seasons.

The people who should be super upset are Latinos. I've never understood why there isn't more outcry about the lack of Latino representation in our media. 16% of our population self identifies as Hispanic or Latinos, but good luck finding one on television that isn't playing a maid or lawn mower. It's outrageous!

Absolutely. I would love to see other minorities as well. I just don't see a problem with the numbers here.

I would see that!

I have never wanted to be a pair of leather pants more in my life.
