I loved half of Alan Wake, and loath the other half. Which I guess means I’m sort of neutral on it overall. The setting, narration, characters and writing were all top notch. Very very well exectued.
This is exactly what Valve does with CS:GO and no one bats an eyelash.
“ But Activision has GOT to stop annualizing every damn thing.”
So question. Why is this “Steams” big dinasour game. I mean, I get it that it’s only on Steam. But it’s interesting to see how what is a totally independent game, is sort of being credited/possessed by the platform it’s on.
Its actually sort of the opposite. They were former Relic devs who made Homeworld. So despite the fact they couldn’t use the Home world name they made a spiritual successor. Fast forward a year and Gearbox basically loans them the license. Its a passion project for everyone involved.
What are your thoughts on Unity’s character animations. Games like Wasteland, Pillars, Shadowrun. My biggest gripe about those games is that the NPCs look and move like garbage. Is that a limitation of Unity?
This isn’t Homeworld 3. It’s a spiritual successor that was then given the Homeworld license by Gearbox. The game is now a prequel/offshoot. A proper Homeworld 3 will probably depend on the success of this game.
Each bedroom has a bath (obviously) and then extra bathrooms for guests when you have a lot of people over and don’t want strangers going through your bedrooms.
Thank you. I’m a huge Star Wars fan. I went through a 10~ year streak where I consumed every book, comic, video game I could get my hands on. The prequels as a whole really aren’t that awful, let a lone an insult. They could never live up to expectations either way.
Frankly they are making a mistake by not tightening up what is the biggest chink in their armor. Sure they have a near monopoly on PC, but there is strong competition out there. Competition that does customer service right.
Umm not really at all. I’ve played on and off since beta 6 and CS:Go feels pretty close to the original pre-source versions. More so than CS:Source anyway.
Length and value are not a direct correlation. Games are meant to be enjoyed, regardless of length.
Yes and no, crunch can happen on any project anywhere. But it’s not an expected thing. It’s not the norm. I work in the industry and I can tell you that the video game industry has some very specific challenges. It’s way easier to go overboard with scope creep on a came instead of say, an internal web service. It’s a…
Why would you pay $60 for a pair of stylish shoes, or a dress shirt? Because you like the way it looks.
Nope. I’m 6’3 and pretty much exclusively date 5’4 and below. Hips always line up the same way regardless of height. If you’re 6’10 fine, write about it.
You need to learn more about art, and bodies. That’s a painting of a wealthy woman, as demonstrated by her size. Because she can over-eat. Wealthy men were often portrayed in the same way. Its a charictature and in no way represents any sort of beauty norm.
Lots of players=MOBA now?
The PS2 was manufactured for like 13 years. And I believe FIFA 14 showed up on it.
Sony might have been the nail in the coffin, but the PS2 isn’t why Sega went under. The PS2 destroyed the Gamecube and the original Xbox. Nintendo and MSFT are left standing. Two other consoles got trounced by Sony but lived to tell the tale. Why? Because they weren’t already on their last leg. It’s not as simple as…
