I mean, we know who’s in the wrong. Like it or not, the dad didn’t figure out if one was necessary and/or didn’t apply for a permit. Unsurprisingly, most villages/towns/cities don’t want you to install paved race tracks in your back yard. So they require you to get a permit. He didn’t do it, and built it anyway. Would

Respectfully, all of these suggestions are still massive vehicles.

I had a laugh at the guy who brought his Datsun 1200 wagon. It was beautiful, but was definitely a fish out of water at this show.

A 1978 Honda Civic? Worked for Hightower, with mods

The strawberry milkshake of death. they would know if that was going to be a thing by now, BUT if not, then you absolutely preemptively swap in a new radiator. Parts for these things are cheap and they are (mostly) easy to work on. I did mine at 170K miles once I found out this was a thing on the pre-2010s

I’ve had a few of these over the years and they are getting harder and harder to find. Mechanically, absolute tanks. The main killer is rust, and sometimes transmission issues...but 95% its rust. This looks rust free, and 185k is nothing on the mechanical bits. Easy NP, these are delightful to drive, work on, and go

If you do a lot of highway miles, this thing will eat ’em up in serene comfort.

No need for that. The Supreme Court legalized AR 15s and bump stocks. A few takeovers get all shot up like it is 1992 again, and they’ll stop real quick. California has got way too gentrified lately.

Great show. Ironically I used to travel a lot for work and watched it on Discovery on the flights.

From Wikipedia, 1.35 million through its roughly decade of production.

I can appreciate anyone who has poured some amount of passion into their vehicle, even if that vehicle holds no appeal for me personally. Lowrider? Heck yeah. Old British Roadster? Godspeed. Restomod pony car? Have at it. JDM tuner car? Yes please.

But if you roll up in a bro-dozer with 6+ inches of lift, stretched

Chip Foose ruined everything.

I’d rather see a million Mustangs and Bel-Airs at a show over one BroDozer any day. Hell, I’d rather look at a rusty PT Cruiser with fake wood and curb feelers.

This is what you get when you order a LeBaron on Temu.

ND! Two better options? Miata or Chrysler LeBaron, depending on your priorities.

He said 85K cost of restoration, not value of car. Maybe he’s hoping someone infers the value of a concours restored car based on that, without further investigation. I can see a concours level restoration costing 85k with this as a starting point. But much cheaper and faster to buy one already done, unless you want

That ad has more red flags than a Chinese military parade.

They narrowed the lights, made the upper line straight, and got rid of the fog lights. That’s not huge change.

Spending tens of thousands of dollars to relocate halfway across the country (to say nothing of having to find jobs there) to save $5000 is perhaps the dumbest suggestion I’ve ever heard.
