Now THIS headline would have had my undivided attention. SO close to me caring.

No amount of athletic prowess excuses breaking laws and putting anyone in danger of very serious injury for your convenience.

It figures this Porsche is in the O.C. with more Trust Fund Felons per capita than anywhere. Home of the sort of mammothrept that would turn its nose up at a 911, water-cooled slushbox or not. I wonder what they bought it instead. Seems like a nice price to me.

fuck it, it’s fine

Let’s say you are correct and the truck on its own is worth $15k (I disagree, BTW and I love 7.3s). The seller is still trying to get $35k for it. Then they want another $35k for a camper that retails for around $28k. Even with your math, this thing is worth $43k max.

Looks like something a dude would put together in order to impress other dudes on some overlanding/prepper/vanlife forum.

I was looking at some property for sale the other day in eastern New York (east of Albany, nearing the MA border). It was pretty easy to buy 5-10 acres for somewhere in the neighborhood of $40-70k. So, on that basis, it’d be a no go for me.

263,000 miles

Way high, especially the truck portion even though a nice combo. Sounds like one of those, “I put it up for sale honey, but had no takers.” You’d never get my wife in one of those - $70k buys a lot of nice hotel rooms.

If you feel like you have to be a fashionista, you do you and deal with the consequences. I wear the same clothes to work I wear on vacation, which are the same clothes I wear on an evening out. But I have zero use for “galas afterparties” of any kind. if khakis and a polo shirt are not appropriate attire, likely not

Lovely. I have a bad habbit of making my vacations road trips, driving as much as possible to see it all. It’s exhausting and not leisurely. GO TO ICELAND and drive the ring road. Most alien world you can visit easily.

I don’t disagree with that at all. What’s annoying is that any time Chinese cars are brought up, there’s a lot of tightly-wound hand-wringers who act like someone in the US buying a Seagull would bring about WW3.

I refused to look at the market and went ND. I know this is pretty much spot on, but I refuse to believe these are really worth what a cheapo commuter car is.

I’m a bit of a math wiz, but you’d think that the people of country that has a huge demand for cheap, imported goods, might be in a tight spot if the cost of all the goods they buy increases by 100%.  Especially since that importer nation has spent many decades moving their manufacturing out of country to cut their

Your challenge today is to find me examples of mainstream Chinese cars that are blatant ripoffs of American vehicles.

They have an interesting story to them as well:

I learned early on in my travelling career to not check a bag for several reasons:

Talk about a time where you really really didn’t need all those extra clothes anyway!

Yep. There is no “nice way” to do a layoff.
