People aren’t avoiding EVs because they don’t make engine sounds (and FWIW, some EVs make great Jetson-y motor sounds).  People don’t like change, and Stellantis is trying to mitigate change in childish ways.

Really nothing. EV all the things. They’ll be better for it.  It’ll encourage more infrastructure.  And the tech will get better.  Saying no to anything just makes the whole transition more painful.

That’s conflating problems.  The fact that we haven’t seen affordable EVs yet doesn’t mean they’re not possible.

One of the fuelling options is closing stations, and Toyota is attempting to sell off stock.

I can only assume one of two things:

There are some weird things here…

Car’s gone. And so it should be. That was awesome for under $4k.

With all the crap non-automotive stuff Jalopnik has been posting lately, it’s threads like this that keep me coming back.  Very cool.

When the hate for Tesla and EVs reach a new low at Jalopnik:

I love that rear 3/4 view. And the *idea* of a Bentley is kinda cool. In reality, I have little to no interest in dealing with such a car today. Especially in my town, where Bentley’s would stick out. A lot. In an undesirable way.  I’m not dropping $35k for that.  ND.

I don’t think I could have described the shove better.  That’s exactly it.

many automakers, including the Big Three, worry it’ll cost them billions.

I’m late. Cross Cabriolet is here. Sebring Convertible is here. The Pt Cruiser Convertible is here. Even that stupid Evoque convertible is here. Y’all have done well.

This.

I kinda love it.  Probably an unreasonable NP, but I’m going that way anyway.

+1.  6'4" and a happy NC owner.  LOTS of room.

This is awesome! 80’s cars are hugely under appreciated today. Though…that might just be the reader demographic.

Might be because the alternative is a CVT right now. Subaru knows enthusiasts aren’t jazzed by their CVT regardless of how good they make it.

First gear:  It’ll be interesting to see how much time passes before people start complaining about Tesla’s monopoly in EV charging.

I posted basically the same thing, but thought “somebody must have beaten me to this.” Kinda glad I was right.
