This phrase, as well as “and yet here we are,” need to be terminated with extreme prejudice. Like me this morning, they are very, very lazy and tired.

Does air traffic control have a set of instructions to use with ordinary people in case of emergency? For instance, saying “check the altimeter” would be meaningless to a layman, but saying “check the 4th dial down from the top” or whatever could help cut through all the panicky “WHAT IS THAT I DON’T KNOW WHERE IT IS”

They really nailed the template, font and all. I appreciate that sort of attention to detail.

Well if that isn’t the most adorable thing I’ve seen all morning. This video needs to be its own article.

Let’s be honest, none of them have ever trekked this far on a bike.

They’re trying to zero-in on their most flattering selfie angle. I don’t think I’m kidding.

There are so many other ways to deal with this problem it’s insane to consider paying for some QVC trinket you’re just going to forget every time you need it anyway. Without even thinking hard, you can:

Hot damn, that’s a lot of companies to boycott! Is Trump up to the challenge??

Clown love #thegathering

“Taking it straight to the recycling center this weekend..?”

Nevermind the fact that the police wouldn’t know the person’s record by simply looking at them.

It would be horribly tragic if my ability to protect myself or my family were to be taken away, but that’s exactly what Democrats are determined to do by banning semi-automatic handguns.

Seconded for NYC. My absolute first piece of advice for bike shopping here is to buy used. It’s too heartbreaking to invest a lot in something that’s going to get stripped or stolen (unless you have the luxury of keeping it indoors at work and home). The less attention you can draw to your bike, the better.

Yikes. It’s hard to imagine why this was thought to be an improved experience over a traditional shifter. Feather-touch controls remove the user from the action they’re enabling, which is fine for something like, say, power steering, but something as vital as transmission necessitates more visual or tactile

Thanks for the explanation. This definitely sounds like a case of overengineering a solution to a problem that never really existed. It’s just a shame that, assuming this results in a redesign of the shifter, it took such a high-profile death to effect that change.

I’m not familiar with the gear shifter, but googled a few images and think I have the jist. Is this an accurate description of the problem?

I didn’t make it to the bottom of the photos but am surprised I didn’t see this yet. Found in New York, very high prevalence in dating profiles.

This was an attack in America, against Americans. He is in the goddamn US military. The fact that he thought it was ok to say this simply boggles the mind. He needs to be thrown so far the fuck out of the marine corps that he needs supplemental oxygen to return to earth.

I always figured it was because moving around jiggles your bladder just enough that the full pressure isn’t constantly at rest. Like shaking a bag of water, the tension against the bottom is relieved in brief flashes.
