Agreed to most of that, except Claire didn’t GET to have sex with the king, she consented to be “at his complete disposal” and gritted her teeth through the act solely as the price to free Jamie. She was demeaned, she hated every moment. That’s not really the same as hopping into bed for a royal romp.

I liked the third book better than the second.

I think it was longer in the show than in the books. In the books it has to happen very quickly because Jamie has to get out of prison in time to mess with the shipment of port so she actually does it before she forgives Jamie. In the show she says she’s been in the hospital for weeks before she even goes home. Hard

In a voiceover, she said she stayed in the hospital for weeks so I’m guessing she was perhaps 6-8 weeks postpartum (perhaps that last week or two was just waiting for the meeting with Louis to be set up).

Pretty much everything you’ve said is 100% spot on. Hinch getting the pole is by far the story stealer of the race so far, and even if he doesn’t win its a massive comeback story worthy of all the headlines.

-”I doubt a 17th place race start will thwart him much.” Unless they have to dry the track...

SAME.

I am still on the fence about this series being too rapey. While it does seem to be overused as a rather ham-handed way to advance the plot, there was an awful lot of rape back then. So perhaps it is conceivable that every person in a given family has experienced rape/sexual assault at one point or another in his or

Not to mention that wing made for massive draft battles. You get behind a car, even several car lengths behind, you pick up substantial speed, upto 20 mph faster than the guy in front of you and then slingshot right around them. A few records for most lead changes and passes around the track were made on those two

Good to see small teams like Schmidt and Carpenter handily beating Ganassi and Penske super teams;
Good to see Hinch (who is legitimately one of the nicer, funnier, cooler people in all of racing) get the pole;
Good to see Honda neck and neck with Chevy;
Good to see all the practice crash issues from last year seemingly

2 cars hit over 240 mph in the speed trap going into turn 1.

The Mayor of Hinchtown has returned unto us! ALL PRAISE!

an average speed of 230.760 mph

But even without environmental abnormalities, Rio’s water has proven time and time again to be composed mostly of garbage and disease.

No Prince?

John Steinbeck:

you know what makes this extra sad? florida declined medicaid expansion for no fucking reason whatsoever. we’re the richest country in the world. people shouldn’t have to make these choices, especially not because of idiot politicians trying to stand their ground on absolute fucking nonsense.

It is typical of motorsports to have the big teams in a series either sell cars/engines to or partially fund smaller teams for the purpose of developing driver and engineer/mechanic talent or to make back some of the money they have sunk into developing their technology. In this case the all-female team was hoping to

A VW Bug. Virtually impossible to stall and barely enough HP to hurt the clutch.
