It’s hardly an original observation but the comment system is such dogshit.  You have to click three times to see comments in the greys, and doing that makes other comments disappear.

The particularly staggering thing about “Parasite” is that even the Foreign Language Film award (the new name is stupid) ignored South Korean films!  No South Korean film was even ever *nominated*!  People like Park Chan-wook could not break through; the Foreign Language award nominees always went to Italy and Germany…

Weren’t people happy with “12 Years a Slave”?  Or “Moonlight”?  Or “Woman Fucks Fish-Man”?

Absolutely shocking.  Marginally less shocking live as probably the whole world started to figure out there was a chance once Bong won best director.  But still pretty goddamn shocking.

I think I’d like Kenneth Branagh to make those movies, but not variations, just straight adaptations. A big-screen Murder of Roger Ackroyd would be amazing.  Cast Tom Hanks as Dr. Sheppard and have him narrate the whole movie addressing the camera no-fourth-wall style.  

Just read a piece about the re-release of Kendall’s book, and it seems Molly wrote an afterword, and went into further detail about his sexual abuse of her.  Just awful, awful things.

Not sure why it’s necessary to work so hard to connect Ted Bundy to the women’s liberation movement of the 1970s. Well, really we *do* know why—gotta have a hook for your documentary—but Billie Jean King and Judith Resnick had fuck-all to do with Ted Bundy.

If you can’t get a rare steak, we white people will be pleased as punch to not come to your cookouts.  No need to see people ruin perfectly good meat.
