I was looking forward to clearing a nice bit of space on the SSD once I finish with the storage hog supreme that is Jedi Survivor. Looks like the interregnum will be short.

Not the best bait, might farm you a jester or 2 on the Steam discussion board.
I though it was debunked that Kojima ever criticised TLOU2, though a FB page using his company name did. It wouldn’t make much sense either considering Kojima has produced equally explicitly violent scenes in his own games (the scene where Quiet tries to cut that soldier’s tongue out and extracts one of his teeth…
“Developer Larian claims it’s the first studio to use intimacy coordinators”
But 666 is in line with the whole Hell/Diablo theme. Acti-blizz clearly just wanted to increase player immersion with their terrible nickel and diming battlepass.
He actually auditioned for Sisko at one point and popped up in Voyager too somewhere iirc. The Visitor is one of my all time favourite episodes of Trek, the final scene with Avery and Tony was beautiful. He’ll be an awesome Venom.
Yeah, there’s a bunch of moments like that, dialogue that doesn’t even serve well as flavour. Then there’s the misguided use of narrative devices the show is so fond of. The first season had its time jumps, and S3 episode 5 has this really weird device that’s feels like it’s supposed to be some kind of perspective…
Indeed.
Couldn’t agree more about the writing. I have a soft spot for the source material/games and I think the 4 leads have decent chemistry which pulls me through the worst of it, but I’m often astonished at the quality of the writing. It’s kind of silly to talk about anachronisms in the context of a fantasy world, but…
I do take your point, and Gollum is certainly the lowest reviewed by that criteria. I still think it has stern competition in Redfall and, if notoriety is a factor, atrocious Twitch fodder like Only Up! deserves to compete for the honour (asset flip though it surely is, lots of people are playing and watching it).
No, I get it, but if we’re removing the steaming piles of shovelware and bad but well intentioned indies from consideration, I’d have to hand it to Redfall. A game that really should have been good based on developer pedigree but somehow ended up being anything but. Can’t say I ever expected much out of Gollum to…
2023's highest profile bad game maybe, but take a dive into the putrid waters of terrible games released this year and you’ll find it is fathoms deep, with Gollum mere flotsam on the surface.
bloody good rep!
Alternate title:
It definitely looks the part; I’m hoping there’s more to Kay’s personality than lovable rascal who cracks wise in the face of danger though.
I can’t think of another for which it’s mandatory either, though maybe the PC port of the last Ratchet and Clank game could be another given its reliance on the PS5s SSD.
It’s very cool but I stopped using it after around an hour because it is literally too efficient, to the point where it had trivialised traversal (and traversal based puzzles) and eliminated the need for creativity.
It looks cool, but at the moment nothing beyond that. There’s little indication of how this game might feel to play (apart from being very disorienting, at some points the camera just pivots suddenly and the dude is hurtling towards some previously off screen enemy). I’m not convinced this is real gameplay tbh, maybe…
I’m a long time fan of grimdark fantasy like The First Law, Black Company and for sure ASoIaF but...I can’t say I’ve ever yearned for that tone in a Final Fantasy game. FF has done the political chicanery stuff in the past, and it can also get pretty dark without being gratuitous. I just hope this doesn’t turn out to…
Thanks for making this post. Since comments were disabled on the trailer I watched, I was left wondering. “Does anyone else think Nintendo just marketed TotK as a cure for mid-life depression?”
