Claire was great, precisely because her being trans is such an understated part of her character. She just is and it’s barely remarked upon outside a couple of lines. Imo gender identity is one of the least interesting aspects of any character unless the story is either explicitly about it or has something interesting

GPU is a 2080 Super and CPU is an i7-10700K. I haven’t done any extensive benchmark tests but FPS is pretty much a solid 60 for the most part, though I still get occasional severe dips, but I put that more down to REDengine 4 optimization than hardware limitations. The RTX also has some strange behaviours like

I enjoyed it too for what it was but, like its progenitor, it had a short development cycle and it really shows in the remake. They had a chance to really expand on the original and do some really cool stuff with the pursuer AI. Instead they reduced the scope of the game and Nemesis was a set-peice enemy for the most

Performance wise the game runs great for me. I’m running it on RTX medium (getting hold of a 30 series just wasn’t on the cards this year) and don’t have any real issues in that regard. When Cyberpunk is firing on all cylinders it’s some of the best gaming I’ve had this year.

Back when having those coin-op arcade quality visuals at home meant buying a $650 console*, and dropping $200 - $300 per game, SNK carved themselves a nice little niche for enthusiasts.

Like any other medium/organization, the point of awards is to recognize, highlight & reward excellence, whether it’s a Pulitzer, Academy Award, Employee of the Month, Game award or whatever, and encourage future excellence in pursuit of such recognition.

It’s more like a celebration of corporate greed and slimy marketing strategies. Bowser knows that we know he’s full of shit. He knows, but with “2.6 million sold in the US alone” he doesn’t care.

I know dude, I’ve been gaming for 35 years. Those days are long behind those companies though whereas CDPRs status as a AAA developer and significant corporate entity is relatively new. Until recently it still traded on that perception of being an uncorrupted indie developer though. 200 people worked on W3; the

I know this, of course. Just a little poke at how CDPR has enjoyed trading off its humble origins and public perception as the scrappy underdog.

I was just thinking how CDPR the little indie company that could, champion of the great unwashed gamer masses, integrity incarnate, has somehow managed to become the Konami/EA/Activision of 2020 with impressive ease.

Absolutely correct and as much as some folk would like to believe CDPR are the chosen ones, pure hearted friends of the common gamer, they are driven as much by money as any other company.

Sub-par graphics would be a disingenuous take for game of 2013. It was a technical marvel in its day and still looks good today, especially on strong hardware. The gameplay is definitely an acquired taste but once you get to grips with some unwieldy controls, and esoteric systems, the game is a ton of fun, especially

1. Bloodborne has to be number 1 for me. I love the changes they made to the combat formula, the art is incredible and the level design is fantastic. Ultimately though, it’s the lore and the fact that it has one of the best implementations of cosmic horror in any medium.

Irrespective of if I agreed with your point or not, I don’t think CDPR omitted plus side bodies out of a sense of social responsibility; Cyberpunk is a game that allows players to partake in numerous morally dubious activities after all.

Now playing

People are complaining about which game won what, but the true tragedy is that this Risitas meme is still relevant for the Dec 2020 game awards!

I literally don’t need to read the article. The headline says it all and I genuinely lol’d hard.

“Would Activision do something like this to one of their competitors? Oh absolutely, yes and much, much worse to boot, hahahaha! Ahem...the trick is, not to get caught.” - Bobby Kotick, December 2020...probably

For me it’s a matter of perception; I see it as pulling back the head/camera and pushing the head/camera forward. I don’t really see it as an inversion.

I’m shocked by closely this game ended up cleaving to BotW. From its copy/paste powers right down to little things like the different colored map markers. It may have AAA production values but it seems to have mobile sensibilities; even the name puts me in mind of a trashy F2P mobile clone.

Depending on the year you were born, he was, sadly, difficult to avoid for many of us living in the UK. Thankfully, he’s been irrelevant for many years. I can’t help but think this is an attempt to regain some visibility.
