Cailee Spaeny (whose surname you misspelled above) also played a character on Devs who was just supposed to be a young male rather than a woman.

I think we can all agree, this site is not known for good science communicators.

I thought you might have a point until you brought out “chemicals.” EVERYTHING IS CHEMICALS. Your entire body contains chemicals. Bad argument.

No, not really “to a point.” If we have an acre deforested for crops vs an acre deforested for grazing, it will always be better for it to be crops. There will never be some point or level of scale where this relationship flips and cattle would be the more environmentally friendly choice.

What is this site’s issue with plant based meat substitutes? The numbers presented in the article show that its very clearly better in terms of environmental impact. Not a small improvement either, clearly very much better. But all the articles this site publishes are things like this trying to downplay it, or whining

The part that really sticks out to me is the note that many of the crops that go into plant-based meat contribute to deforestation. While correct, these crops contribute far less to deforestation than clearing land to graze cattle. And even if we ignore the grazing, another really major cause of deforestation is feed

Just marvelously stupid

Sorta doubt some guy in a store was gonna search your reusables, that’s illegal basically anywhere in the US.  They can ask, but that’s your private property so they can either call the cops or piss off.  Just don’t try that anywhere you joined some kind of membership like Costco.  But at Wal-Mart?  Fuck that receipt

It does seem kinda like the “electric cars also use energy which might come from fossil fuels!” argument.

I mean, I liked TG:M...I was entertained. But to say that the the characters, especially Maverick, were not superheroes is a fucking streeeeeetch.

Yes.  The movie about the 60 year-old man who can fly the end mission from Star Wars a million times better than a bunch of 20 year-olds is definitely not a wish-fulfillment superhero movie.

Sorry, having to carry your child from the store to your car is not “punishment” (if you don’t want the burden of carrying it, don’t make the baby). These days I don’t believe you can take the carts out of any Safeways in my city (San Francisco), regardless if you’ve bought something or not. If you don’t like it blame

I skimmed over it the first time but your comment made me laugh loudly—don’t complain, confuse...

Reminder - If you see someone stealing food, no you didn’t.

It’s very common to hear about it from Cannes especially, to the extent (and for such a wide quality of films) that it’s not really noteworthy.

You’re assuming that you render all of the water out of the food during the cooking process, and that beef and mushrooms have the same caloric profile if you can successfully dehydrate them.

Both assumptions are incorrect.

LOL yeah I do not understand what kind of complaint that even is.

Be specific in your complaint: “This is too rare; I wanted it medium, and it’s well done.”

Oh, sure, I’m all for bulking your meat up with veggies. I just think “meat alternative” is a bit misleading.

So, two thoughts:
