It seems like the dog wasn’t the actual issue though, yes while the owner is saying it was, it sounded like he came in and started preaching. I would probably be pissed if some dude came in and started doing that too.

At what point does it become not even worth it to run the dishwasher versus just washing by hand, though? By the time you “diligently rinse” to the level you describe, you could just spent an extra 10 seconds per dish and finish getting off that last bit of “minimum grease, near liquid or no bigger than salt/pepper…
