Leadership matters, though, and when the rank-and-file are told by union leadership that “gosh-darn-it this is the best deal we could get for you but don’t worry, you didn’t really need streaming residuals anyway, and that’s parroted by the big-name actors who aren’t negatively impacted, a bad contract is the

“Drescher, Crabtree-Ireland, Whitehair, and the rest of UFS are nothing but studio lapdogs who will negotiate yet another contract that screws working actors.”

No big deal. They will just have the showrunners act.

When one of the issues driving writers to strike is the risk of AI not only stealing their work, but putting them out of work in the process...it really is important actors step up and draw a line that they’ll refuse to work with anything other than union writers writing real scripts.

Oh definitely, there’s a TON of, like, background racism in D&D that can and should be examined (though newer editions have done a lot to try and mitigate this). Also, theoretically, shouldn’t a subterranean race of Elves be very light-skinned, not dark skinned?

Disney has ALL the power here. Republicans always talk about “jobs jobs jobs” yet he is trying to punish a company because they didn’t like his bigotry. If Disney goes, the other theme parks will be severely affected, because there is less of a reason to to to Florida in the first place.

I was thinking that too but it has been 29 years since the show started and the cast was older on average than most shows of the era. All of the main cast were in their mid-40s when the show started except for Mira Furlan(38) and Claudia Christian(32).

look i love B5 and i will be watching this, but can we stop with multiverse stuff already. why does B5 need a multiverse? i get its the hip new thing to have since cinematic universes are played out right now, and B5 already had a shared universe before it was cool.

Sheridan’s father was named David. Presumably he and Delenn named their son after him.

I have one, haha. Got the RAM expansion for it too, for a full 1 megabyte of memory.

I, for one, am SO looking forward to seeing this!

It also allows B5 back into the public conscious again.  Which can help bring attention to the new show.

:-)  Surely someone still has a working system!

In her defense, it really really REALLY looked like Season Five was not going to happen, so I can’t exactly fault her for seeking other work.

Ages ago. They appeared together on some of the DVD commentaries for the series that began in 2004.

Kinda shocking how many original cast members are no longer with us. :(

I have a suspicion the reference to multiple universes might be a way of tying the original B5 universe to the new, rebooted version he is planning for the live-action script in development at Warner Brothers (formerly at the CW before they passed on it and, indeed, apparently their entire original 2023-24 lineup). It

But will it be rendered on an Amiga?

Hmm... I’ll watch it, because Babylon 5 is brilliant and Straczynski has very few misses to his name, but I don’t really see the appeal of a one-off 90 minute tour of B5s multiverse. Presumably there’s more to it though, and he’s already mentioned that if it’s successful it might lead to more animated stories —

I think Piotr Michael could be playing Sheridan and Delenn’s son, who was named David.
