Or stop pushing college on every kid that graduates. If you are not going to college for STEM or to be lawyer, doctor or education, don’t go. I worked at amazon warehouse and most of my managers were college graduates and it didn’t look like they were moving towards their degree path.

College should be paid for by the state and we should not have to jump through these hoops just to avoid crippling debt while becoming functional adults.

All of us here in Pittsburgh:

The school counselor is likely a part of the teacher’s union and her employment would not be at-will.  I’d bet her union is already challenging the termination as an unfair labor practice.

There are several reasons that can apply even in “at will states”. As with most things, the law is murkier than you think it is.

PA is an at-will state. And “family of an accused criminal” is not a protected class. So I don’t think any massive lawsuit is forthcoming.

it’s funny how it’s just assumed that SHE is lying and at fault here (because she’s...famous?”

Gwyneth is weird, yes. But I don’t think she’s actively evil. If, in fact the Dr was the uphill skier (as I read somewhere else), then she’s clean. The uphill skier always has the responsibility to avoid the obstacles (people included) below them.

And now I get to take a bath for defending Gwyneth Paltrow.

Nah f that... for as much of a smug asshole as she can be, you don’t sue somebody for colliding with them on the slopes unless they were doing something really f*ed up. Next thing ya know, people will be suing other people in a mosh pit cuz they got an ouchie at a concert.

Or maybe, just MAYBE, he actually is at fault here? There isn’t much to go on, and chat messages uncovered during discovery directly confirm that unlike their sworn testimony, Sanderson and the only eyewitness (who knows him) were ABSOLUTELY aware that Paltrow was the other party in the crash at the time it happened.

So we’re at Ziff Davis now, which means we’ll be migrating off the g/o media page and over to mashable. But Lifehacker.com will still work the same.

I think if you take a mix of 15K F150s, Silverados, and Rams, I think they would sit at around 5% - 8%. Honda and Toyota would probably be within 1-2%, maybe less. The main Caveat to the EV vs ICE comparison is the maintenance intervals, which ICE would loose every time. However, you can replace or rebuild engines and

This is an understandable take. I drive a 2018 GX now and bought it specifically because Toyota doesn’t take wild risks with their engineering and I expect it to last. EVs are inherently all a new platform and involve some kind of risk as a result, so the Toyota and Honda methodology of using the same proven engine

I would be more interested to see the miles that were put on the vehicles as well. I know you said “exclude Toyota” but that is all I have to go on right now. My ‘07 Hybrid Highlander just hit 270k miles yesterday. I have owned it since 135k miles or so (maybe 148k? I forget) other than a timing belt and wear and tear

It all depends though, hot dogs used to be of exceptionally low quality and the toppings were needed to mask the poor flavors. Now, thanks to regulation, they have gotten better, but it now may be more ceremony than anything.

Nothing is sadder than a Red Lobster in a coastal town.

That’s what I thought as well, reminded of when Michael Scott went to New York for business and went by his favorite place for a slice in New York, Sbarro...

imagine going to NYC and eating at an Applebees or Red Lobster
