I’m actually okay with the price. Low production volume sometimes means higher prices, and $1,000 for something that “completes” whatever the hell it is that you’re trying to complete isn’t crazy.

Agreed. It’s kinda nifty, sure, but not $7800 nifty. I did a quick search for pre-1980 Coronas here in California and found several nicer examples for less than $7K, and ones in similar condition for <$5K.
