Because each country can only submit one film for consideration in the International category, and France picked The Taste of Things as its submission.

I assume Boardwalk on the Eternals board is: Giant hand in the ocean that will never be mentioned again.

If only there was a song about a Spaceman who was missing what he left behind on earth that the movie Spaceman could use about being a Spaceman.

So I know people don’t love the Kelvin movies, but remember that time that Starfleet saw one of its founding planets completely obliterated?

I think it would be great to make Luke the antagonist in the classical sense of the word, so long as we all remember that the words antagonist and villain are not synonyms.

Multi-Doctor story with the original Tenth, self-regenerated Tenth, and Fourteenth.

I’m jealous. We’re getting one of these in the DC area but it’s going to be Encanto themed rather than Bluey.

It’s like a well crafted dessert (fitting as his last course on Netflix). Anyone can pile a bunch of chocolate onto a plate, but that doesn’t mean it’ll work or be enjoyable. A true artist knows how to give you indulgence but still make it palatable.

Usher was self indulgent, heavy handed in its allusions to Poe (R.U.E. Morgue?), and written with all the subtlety of a brick thrown through a window and I LOVED IT! So we all agree based only on the trailer that somehow not being born also changes the identity of the Angel and the big third act twist is that it wasn’t the mayor?

Oh yeah. I like io9 (I’ve been here since CJA was running the place), but it’s def part of the rush-to-spoiler issue because they need to be able to get their “so what did you think about [BIG SPOILER]” article up so that they don’t lose the conversation to other sites.

Heck yeah. I hate the general attitude of “well...just avoid basically the entire internet” from people who seem to take glee in openly talking about spoilers the second the show drops at Midnight.

(Raises hand) I care about it. I’ve quite liked it with Ahsoka because it’s given me the option to watch the show the soonest its available, and not have to spend the day dodging spoilers from folks who have the attitude that if you don’t watch it right as it airs then you don’t deserve to be anywhere on the internet.

The Internet: Dang, that Asteroid City trailer is the most Wes Anderson that Wes Anderson has been.

I, too, assumed that the spin-off was one of the victims of the HBO/WB/Discovery realignment. I’m thrilled to see it’s still been quietly in production.
