For anyone who is enjoying that, there’s an often overlooked film from a few years back called Shoot Em Up, which is basically a live action Bugs Bunny cartoon with guns. They even have the lead character (Clive Owen) chomping on a carrot to make sure folks get what they’re about to see.

Part of what I like about the Star Trek experiment being undertaken by Paramount is that they’re okay with not everyone liking everything they put out, but taking some risks and throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. I’m enjoying these so far, but they’re also short and inconsequential and I’m not going…

When A24 got back to work it was because they gave the unions everything they asked for. Dunno if the same is the case here, but I imagine it has to be at least similar.

I fear it’s biggest hurdle to longevity will be the long term viability of P+ rather than anything directly related to the show.

Paramount has been pretty good about getting their Trek shows onto physical media.

I don’t think the character needs to be a specific age.

They’ve been keeping some actors from the originals. James Earl Jones as Mufasa. Dwayne Johnson as Maui. Danny DeVito as Phil.

I liked the Kelvin movies better than most, and I’ll be the first to say they shouldn’t keep going with all the Star Trek happening on P+.

Basically this. I don’t know if it’s ultimately a good idea to adapt The Dark Tower, but if anyone is going to do it and get it right, it’s Flannagan.

I always felt like Spiner was given one episode a season to chew the hell out of the scenery to make up for the emotionless way he had to play the character otherwise. He gets to be Lore. He does bad stand-up comedy.

In any functioning republic, this revelation would have caused us to all say “thank god we removed him from office three scandals ago.”
