League is such an interesting game, but so many things caused me to leave it cold turkey after like 8 years of playing. 1 is exactly this issue: an incredibly toxic playerbase. I dont know if it’s just League or if it’s all MOBAs, but I easily had the most unpleasant interactions I’ve ever had in a game with other

I think this is more interesting in the context of all the bethesda fan games/remakes that are floating around right now. We all saw how New Vegas: The Frontier played out (not well), and with high-profile, hyped fan remakes like Skyblivion, Morrowind in Skyrim, Fallout 4 New Vegas and others im surely not remembering

it’s a pretty simple fix. Even games like Fire Emblem on Switch have a “bookmark” feature for this, and that’s on a system that you can easily put into sleep mode!

Ihave a problem in all competitive games where i get bored with playing any one character for too long. Basically, I never have a main. I love the chaos of picking random.

I’ve been in kinda a rut lately, and I’m sitting with only a little bit of progress on two books I really wanna get through.

I’m really glad to see this happen and to know that the writers whos opinions I read most or tend to wait on are being treated well by their workplace. I hope others follow suit!

When I first played ME a few years after it came out (I was 11 in 2007) I played as a good guy of course, and named Shepard after myself. I wanted to project myself onto the world and do what I thought the ideal me would do. Pretty typical. But as I’ve gotten just a little older I find myself much less interested in pl

Lol can’t wait to drop a link to this article any time someone on reddit or twitter says their free speech is being violated by a ban. I can’t imagine wasting so much time and money on a lawsuit so frivolous. These people have no idea what the 1st amendment actually says.

Damn, if I expected anything from this post it definitely wasn’t “uncle fahey will publicly roast his sister’s taste in men.” Tell em, Mike!

I enjoy that Reggie has embraced this industry with huge open arms after leaving Nintendo. I was worried he’d go silent and we’d not hear from him while he taught at Cornell, but he continues to be a comforting face in the industry and you can tell he’s grown to care about it a great deal.

Thank god for this piece honestly. I’m SO tired of people spamming that miyamoto jpeg where he said that “a rushed game is forever bad a delayed game is forever good.” That’s not always the case and someone should blog about delayed games that ended up being not so great! Moreso than that it means insane crunch to

must be exhausting being that mad all the time.

Great article. While I think the question “why do we have the same arguments over and over?” is an interesting one, I feel like asking why these questions became *so* prevalent in *gaming* in particular is maybe moreso. What is it about this medium that has attracted so many bigots looking for anything to fight about

One month isn’t too bad but what concerns me is that this is Part One of....[?]

Ugh why did this piece have to be one of your best, and your last :( This all sucks so so much.

Good luck, you guys. So sorry about everything that’s been going on with G/O management.

I keep seeing people say this game needed a few more months in the oven to fine-tune. The Dark Souls inspiration is super apparent - those enemies even look like DS2 hollows - and while you certainly have more options at any given time, watching your stream last night made it seem like those options are just not

Man, posts like this are why I love Kotaku. Gawker/Gizmodo/GO were my awakening in college to a new brand of journalism and criticism. I grew up on 60 minutes, loving how expressive and personal the stories that Wallace, Safer and Bradley told were. It was as much about the story they were covering as it was about

I feel like The Discourse(tm) around this game has been a little misinformed lately. Personally, I never read into leaks like this as a casual player because I like to experience the game completely fresh. I’ve seen people sharing this kind of reaction but also piling in statements like “the devs have bled for this

I’ve been watching speedruns a lot before bed lately in anticipation of AGDQ this month, and that combined with reminiscing on Bloodborne had me wanting to try out a Souls game again. I’ve played Demon Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne, but never 2 or 3. My poor little computer simply can’t run DS3, so I picked up Dark
