This is one of those series that I do not understand the internet fan club for. Dr. Who has just a long history of wackiness. The Star Treks and Battle Star Galatica series deal with monsters/aliens of the week and social issues. But Firefly?

And then we can bring Goku back from the dead...

Thanks, Charlie Jane

To be fair, people like that would find other ways of causing accidents. Up to and including have a map stretched out across their windshield.

I will admit that Akira looked goddamned gorgeous (and still does) and was innovative and groundbreaking - and a great many people's gateway drug into anime. It was, without a doubt, a gamechanger. However, it's a total narrative mess.

Even if other cartoons are better, nobody's ever had a better opening titles sequence than Jonny Quest. 60s cool, start to finish.

Hmmmmmmmmm..........

Not sure if it counts as a 'series', but it's tough to top these from the 40s. The humor, the characters, the voices. Classics that we'll never get close to again.

It took 80 years to flower? Were they using the right material?

His next question was: "Instead of abortion have you considered just shooting the stork?

Congress is a target-rich environment in that regard these days.

Fuckin' vaginas, man. How do they work?

That wouldn't work. You'll have to shove it up his arse, that's clearly where his brain is.

I"m not gonna let someone do a line next to me without sharing...c'mon man!

Interesting thought experiment (brought up on the Freakonomics podcast):

Aint that the truth. Charlie writes positively, or at least optimistically, about stuff that makes my eyes roll.

Let's see... I've ripped into the show for its completely out-of-character idiocy of the good doc in Jamaica acting as Chicken Little instead of a scientist. Gotta fill those script pages in order to put on a hour-long show....

Goatse will be developed into a family drama.
