"A friend of mine once asked me what faith or religion or moral code I might claim to have, and I said in all seriousness that I was an economist."
I agree with your entire theory and sadly that's why when I figure out a show is going to tell this kind of "story" I have to seriously consider whether I want to continue to watch or not. Usually the answer is no.
This was obviously one of my favorite comic books back in the day, I don't have high hopes of it being good but I'm excited nonetheless.
Genius.
Stalk them obviously.
That's completely nonsensical, you'd better copyright it before they steal it from you.
I've liked two of Emmerich's movies (unfortunately out of about 20), Orci and Kurtzman, none that I can think of.
Oops I totally forgot abut that episode.
Playing in boxes is fun, didn't everyone play in cardboard boxes as a youngster?
That's from Farscape, if you haven't seen it you should give it a try one day, it's good stuff.
I was worried that it was going to be Orci or Kurtzman again. I'm not fans of their work and they seem to always want to work on things I would see if not for them being involved.
On the TV series Episodes, Matt LeBlanc explained to the British creators/writers of the show he is starring in that some of the changes the producers had made to the show they were adapting to the US were because when you're writing a show that will probably only have less 20 or so episodes you don't have to worry…
I do too, but I agree with you that they can still ruin the show pretty easily, time travel is already easy to use to cover for bad writing, adding superpowers doesn't make that temptation to write the show into a corner and use a writing crutch to get out any less.
Good point, it's still possible they won't use superpowers in every episode, I'm remaining cautiously optimistic, I mean syfy has to make something good at some point even if it's by mistake, law of averages and all.
I don't know where they're going with the superpower thing but if they abuse it and use it for deus-ex-machina stuff it's going to be a turn off for me. It's still possible that they will use it responsibly, we should know after a few more episodes. I'm not a superhero story fan so if they do too much of it I might…
I assumed he had the super speed powers from the genetic engineering, the same thing that let him heal from the gunshot wound in a few days.
But he's so good at it, a lot of actors say playing the bad guy is more fun, but not many can pull if off as well as he can.
I'm still not convinced that this can stay interesting and coherent for more than a season or two. I see the writers running out of paved road pretty quickly and the show turning into a borderline unwatchable mess. Wouldn't be the first time.
I didn't like the film much, I'm not a fan of weird, mess with the viewer/reader's head stuff in general, and I liked the first episode of the TV show.
