I can't judge the John Carter film completely objectively because I'm a fan of the books but compared to the recent sci-fi films I've seen it certainly wasn't any worse than many other films that made plenty of money.
Yesterday I finished my Harlem detective novel and started reading The Hunter today.
I just disagree with the blanket statement that buying a $500 laptop or other low end of mid range items is always a bad idea and wanted to offer a counter opinion.
Budgeting works for those who usually buy what they actually need or want and don't buy more just because they see something shinier in the store.
It works for some of us.

Chronicle was cheap to make ($15 million is what wikipedia says) so the studios didn't have much to risk.
The recent failure of John Carter a good film about a character that no one outside of geeks remembers anymore should tell you why studios are reluctant to spend mega bucks on obscure comic or sci-fi franchises.
You'd see an increase of me at a track if that happens.
Tonight I decided to watch an old DREAM MMA fight that has been clogging up my hard drive instead of doing something useful.
I really don't give a damn about the manufacturers crappy releases, I only care about when a RC or stable CM9 will be out for my phone.
Taking notes, using the calendar and reading most of the time then calling and texting about equally.
I was gone when the voting took place but I want to say that I really like Go Keyboard and If you want a great free keyboard you should try it.
Woa! I've been using Go Keyboard for almost a year and I never knew it had that capability.
The craziest part is Major League Eating locking people into exclusive contracts for like 2.5x minimum wage.
