This has also never happened to me, in both a 12 e350 bluetec and more recently a 2014 Cayenne diesel (most people I’ve met don’t even know Porsche ever sold Diesels)

To answer your question, simply drive one.

The steering wheel needs to be attractive.  An ugly wheel is a deal breaker for me.  It’s the thing that connects you to the car, and receives the lions share of the amount of time you’ll spend looking at anything in the car.

I understood that point, what I’m saying is that when he brought in his own financing he was essentially a cash buyer to the dealer at that point.  So, why still get the loan?  He answered it already though.

Gotcha. It’s illegal in the state I live in is I’m unfamiliar with it. But I still don’t understand, if you were ready to pay cash and didn’t finance through the dealer, why take a loan through your bank with a prepayment penalty clause?
