You know what? Maybe “pretty dull TV” is EXACTLY WHAT WE SHOULD WANT FROM OUR PRESIDENT.

Plenty of people care that Trump is a lying sociopath, that’s a big reason for why he lost in 2020, and why he has never won a majority of votes despite eight years of the media and half our political establishment falling over themselves to worship him.

Why not both? Trump had four years of horrific policies on his record and anyone who was awake from 2016-2020 saw it go down in real time. The undecided voters already know he let COVID spread unchecked for months and kill millions, and they know he set up phony contracts with his friends to get paid for a border wall…

I agree with most of this, but HBO would have given them anything they asked for, and they said they didn’t need as many episodes for those final two seasons (IIRC).  It sort of felt like they’d run out of gas at that point and just wanted it to be done.

I did not understand the point of inserting that graphic of an image into the episode at all. We get it, they are in a brothel. Previously, I had thought this show was doing a bit better when it came to gratuitous depictions and then this scene made me re-examine that. It was so out of left field. 

Dumb and dumber wrote some of the best episodes of GoT including many things that *were not* in the books.
While seasons 7 and 8 (and 7 in particular, much more than 8) were subpar, the fault ultimately reposes on GRRM shoulders who paint himself into a corner and has not been able to continue the story for 13 years.…
