Poor sweet Helaena doesn’t deserve what’s inevitably coming to her, quite frankly.
This is the man who gave us Grover, Elmo, Oscar, and Kermit Tully.
I’m most excited to see if the show is going to stick to the book’s conceit that all the Tullys of this era have the names of Muppets. Lord Grover’s been mentioned several times, but his grandson Elmo and great-grandsons Kermit and Oscar may be pushing things on a TV show in a way that the book could just barely get…
I think he’s trying to drive a wedge between Aegon and Alicent. It wasn’t about the actual result of it - it was about making Aegon think that Aemond and Alicent wanted him out of the way, which I read as the reason for Aegon’s later humiliation of Aemond.
I think he just made up that rumor to get himself a job on the council / make himself seem useful to the king.
Can I just say that’s the weirdest Arthurian reference I’ve ever seen in a serious piece of work?
the Brackens and Blackfoots were so easily goaded into annihilating one another, weren’t they?
He was great and was given too few opportunities to lead a project. I’m going to rewatch Serial.
Martin Mull was one of the funniest human beings to ever walk the Earth, and I feel like he was somehow still super underappreciated.
So true. I used to have a G/O tab permanently open, but recently I forgot to check Jalopnik and Gizmodo (the only two G/O sites I still look at) for three weeks and I didn’t even notice. There’s simply little reason to visit anymore. They sold off the good sites, turned off comments on others, and routinely screw…
The reasons people leave Hoonigan, and Donut are exactly the reason people leave Jalopnik and G/O.
I work in entertainment, and this is one of the realest and truest things I have heard someone in this industry say:
I, erm, didn't know that, but that says everything I'm saying far better than my 3 paragraphs lol. Jesus.
But what is really pissing me off? My own damn party. They’ve gone this far into the campaign, only to finally realize that maybe, just maybe, he *might* not be the most dynamic speaker. And now we’re getting all these hot takes about getting Biden to step down and finding a replacement.
I hate Trump and everything around him. But if I step back, it’s so crazy how the discourse is always so weirdly sportsy, and has been since 2000 or so, when it really became Red v Blue.
No, it’s a very simple delineation of the differences between a mostly middle class white audience who are detached and clueless about the process because they can afford to be, and much more working class black audience who have engraved on their DNA the understanding that progress is hard work and requires fortitude.
Changing your menu daily is madness. I’m not sure what that even proves.
The actress who plays Alicent is 1 year older than the actor playing her son Aemon.
I was so confused when Otto called Jahaerys his grandson. He was Otto’s great-grandson, right?? These generations are way too close! Alicent almost looks younger than both of her sons!
