I caught that too- It’s good to have a young back. I’ll double the padding for double the age.
Nah, that name is sacred. What Ford did back in ‘12 and ‘13 was kind of neat to pay homage to the two model year run of ‘69 & ‘70. The first year (‘69) Boss 302 had it’s own unique C-stripe and front and rear end design. When the ‘70 came out, it had a new front and rear end treatment and the stripe change to the…
They did a limited run of Boss 302s in 2012 and 2013 that were great and were timed with the Boss’s 40th anniversary. As it’s been longer since they tapped into the Mach heritage they’re likely just exploiting that before going back to a line they recently used. I bet in 2022 and 2023 we'll see another Boss 302…
Even the new edge Mach 1 wasn’t a track specific machine, it was tuned and geared more for the dragstrip. (Though it did have several upgrades to the suspension and brakes that did help through the corners.)
True that. Boss models came one way, track focused. Mach 1's we’re available with the full line-up of Ford V-8s, down to the 302 2V base engine. You could build a screaming Mach 1, but could also buy the “secretary” version as well.
The base 5.0-liter V8 currently makes 460 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque and the Shelby GT350's 5.2-liter flat-plane crank V8 makes 526 hp and 429 lb.-ft. of torque, leaving about 100 hp of wiggle room for the new Mach 1 if you take Ford literally.
The track focused Mustang wasn’t supposed to be the Boss 302?
That is not the stock Mach 1 bumper on the new edge. It looks a little more pedestrian than that photo suggests.
Fk that noise.............
Toyota was insistent that the new Supra have a straight-6.
What if your passion is to be lazy?
I might have some bad news for you. It’s still a nissan
How was it a passion project? They outsourced 90% of the work to BMW. The entire point was for Toyota to avoid doing as much work as possible, that’s the exact opposite of passion.
It’s a fucking silhouette.
She looks good in this dimly lit bar.
