I doubt Toyota will go to the I6 for their mainstream cars. The V6 and its flexibility makes more sense. Toyota has been able to shove their GR based engines into nearly every platform that isn’t tiny. They wouldn’t have been able to do that with an I6.

Not just V8's - there are lots of V6's that are better than most I6's in every way. But some folks like to stock with what they know I guess.

Alternative idea: every car should have a V6, which are more compact, offer better weight distribution, better packaging options, lower center of gravity, and often less weight than a comparable I6. You can also often take advantage of knowledge and designs gathered from V8 engines, such as with the EA839 deriving

Wow, Nissan, just give up already with Infiniti then. I owned a Q50 with the VR30DDTT. The engine was fantastic. Everything else about the entire car was disappointing and I was happy to let it go.

Don’t be so quick to assume that metal in the M96 means IMS. It could be several other things. I recommend doing an oil analysis with each change if you’re really worried. A porsche specialist could then tell you if there is something to cause concern.

Serious question: is it worth the money over a GTS? Or even a normal S? The S we drove seemed more than quick enough and the chassis and suspension was great.

Didn't that hurt your back to do that exercise on pavement with just a thin towel? I feel like that would hurt even if you had a nice yoga mat or something under you

True, but Boss 302 sounds jut as good as Mach 1 and they could pull from their historical images of the Boss racing for marketing. Seems Boss would work just as well.

It should be. It certainly was when it first came out and when they revived it. The original was basically a street legal trans am car depending on your options.

Why not call it the Boss 302?

I would love the Aussie version for the goodies with the Middle East interior. Not sure why Nissan is so weird with their different versions of the same model.

The Patrol is already good. We just don’t get all of the same goodies as the APAC market. But the underpinnings are pretty decent.

They had the V35A-FTS in development already and they have the N platform that underpins the IS, RC, and GS.

It should be 300zx again! The name makes sense. Its probably going to be 3500lbs and has a turbo v6. It sounds much more akin to the Z32 than the S30.

Am I the only one who wishes they would return to the 300ZX name? I mean, it may not be as iconic as the 240z naming structure, but the Z32 generation was a really good car that was loved by the press and very appreciated by its owners. It might have been expensive for the time, but it was still a great car - though

The Shelby cars were for people who wanted to look cool while driving a car that wasn’t as good as other Mustangs in Ford’s lineup. It was created by a sell out who just wanted to cash in on his name.

I don’t understand the Shelby fixation. The Boss 302 was a much better car that was driven by much better racers than sell-out sexual-harassment Carroll.

Not being really Shelby’s is a plus in my book. I prefer my cars to not be associated with unsuccessful racers who sexually harassed women.

What? I thought the article was about a Mustang. I think you replied to the wrong article.
