I disagree

Agreed. But that’s sort of my point (which you may be agreeing to, not sure).

It’s true the 964 and 993 are less common and more sought after. But the targa is also one of the least sought after 911's and this one has 150k miles.

It’s a targa with 150k miles for almost 26k. The prices may be a tiny bit softer, but that’s still insane.

That car is one of the least desirable bodies, with a plain color and over 150k miles. 26k is still way too much for that car.

Then you will probably appreciate this C7 Z51.

The C7 in lime rock green looks fantastic

“There’s an E85 chip in there but the previous owner didn’t finish the job”

Or V8 wagons. But that won’t be for a while.

There’s an easy solution for everyone: buy an Evo. It’s the better AWD track car anyway (yeah, I went there).

It all feels and looks super cheap in person. Smells like cheap plastic on hot days and everything creaks and rattles over bumps.

Too bad the interior still looks like this:

Z1 motorsports does pretty good work, but no one seems to time attack the Z34.

These things have basically become disposable items.

Do yourself a favor and just buy a C5Z. You won’t stand out from the crowd, but you will have an overall better ownership experience.

Swapping the pan is sort of a PITA. Pull lots of suspension bits, unbolt engine, suspend engine, drop K member, swap pan, reverse.

You can, sure. I was just arguing that the LS6 is a more durable starting point. If you take a look at the SCCA stuff, you’ll see that an LS6 can survive a lot of G’s with little work. The LS1 requires more work for whatever reason.

I’d spend the extra money and get the C5Z. The LS6 is more bullet proof on track vs. the LS1.

Get the Z51 package if only for the legitimate dry sump and coolers galore.

“Beware though of the fake Acura EL/CSX’s, which are Honda Civics with Acura grilles or headlights. We get a lot of those up here.”
