I got that feeling at Road Atlanta too.

“Any job featured on old episodes of Insomniac With Dave Attell”

31 = 310mm wide

I get the affinity for these, but there are some things to keep in mind for readers out there who plan on meeting their hero.

NY mandates that you wear eye protection. If you ride with the visor up, your eyes are no longer protected. The logic is that, without your eyes protected, something minor or serious could contact your eyes, obscure your ability to see, and cause an accident.

Remember when it was popular to put those over fenders on cars?

Sigh....

Then why promote it?

Of course he hasn’t, he’s selfish.

I was pleasantly surprised that you actually replied. I was even more surprised to see a reply that was mostly modest and seemingly reasonable. That is, until I read that last bit: “virtue signallers.” That was pretty expected from you. But let’s dive a little deeper into your reply:

Zing. Reckless then. Point still valid.

Good catch

What Alex Roy did was wreckless and selfish.

This is an awful awful awful awful awful awful idea. Just awful. Please don't

Don’t bother replying to them. They seem to have a thing for reckless stuff like this. Or they’re just being obtuse to be antagonistic.

You’re ignoring the fact that it is dangerous when a large speed differential exists. This has been proven multiple times. If you are travelling at a rate of speed that is 100% greater than the traffic around you, then you are not driving defensively at all.

There’s a difference between going 15 mph over the limit with the flow of traffic and purchasing radar jammers and detectors so you can go 35 mph or more faster than the traffic around you.

100% this. The act was stupid and dangerous and the guy comes off as super pompous in person.

Booo. Please let’s not glorify people who break the law and give car enthusiasts a bad name.
