Hahahaha. Funny guy over here.

Guess I won’t be switching from my JB to an Ecutek tune on my 3.0t any time soon. Maybe AMS will get approval from Nissan for their Ecutek tune to not void warranties.

Nissans and Infinitis don’t have a flash counter from what I’ve seen, but I could be mistaken. That’s why I prefer piggybacks like Burger Tuning.

Of course. That’s obvious. But if they wanted to make less power to put less stress on the engine then they should have selected the appropriate power adder to meet those goals.

Interesting. I wonder what is holding them back form a reliability standpoint.

Is that 1000 hp at the crank? If it’s at the crank, then they are seriously underutilizing that blower and could have gone with a 3.4 for the same results.

Please turn in your literacy card.

I’m surprised how many people are getting rubbed the wrong way by this article.

It’s that damn Eaton. They just can’t manage the same fuel economy as an NA engine with that blower on top of it.

Here are the complete specs with both sets of ratios for the Z06:

I think tick performance or one of those vendors allows you to select different overdrive gears.

My money is on the Ford’s for GT as well. I’d also like to see a return of GT1 - or at least have the GT2 cars turned up to 11. We all know the Fords the other GT cars can go faster and I think it would be interesting to see some 800+ hp GT cars with more extreme aero. I’m thinking DTM level of work, but with

True. Though I doom know of any LS guys in the same class as mihovetz

I am 100% aware of Mihovetz, but his engine is on a different level than a stock bottom LS engine. He runs the stock crank and b head castings, but he also has aluminum rods, forged pistons, heavily ported b heads, etc. The mihovetz engines aren’t stock by any stretch.

I know it will always be a double or triple overdrive, I just wish more of them had gearing closer to the zr1 or even just use the MN6 1-3 in more of the applications. The C7Z has the same gears as the ZR1 I believe at least.

I’m talking about completely stock long block engines. Stock internals, cam, heads, everything.

They did it again with the damn C7 too. I was bummed to learn that the C7 Z51 and C7 GS have the same 1-4 ratios as the MN12. I just don’t get it.

They also have just about the same level of potential. Harder to get serious displacement without changing out the block, but the chassis is just as capable(and most parts are interchangeable) and the car is just as light despite the steel frame.

Are you in Georgia? Vengeance did much of the engine work on my C5Z while I still had it.

Yup. The current 1/4 record for a completely stock LS based motor is a 6.0 running a very very low 7. There are plenty of other 4.8's, 5.3's, and 6.0's in the 7's and 8's as well.
