C5 should be good for your purposes. You could probably get deep into the 11's with little more than a cam, torque converter, and breathing mods.

The valve spring issue effected early 2003 models. Can confirm that mine may have failed had I not swapped them. Mine was made in early 2003 and they were a part of the yellow painted batch. I also know a guy who tracked his ‘04 commemorative edition who lost a spring accelerating out of turn 7 at RA

It’s not bad, but it has its limitations. The opening to the trunk and the added bracing in the Z06 version (under the rear window) makes the trunk very limited in use. Forget carrying boxes bigger than something smallish. It just won’t fit. Boxes are your enemy in a C5Z.

I was running 275's in the front and 295's in the rear, NT05's.

Can’t say I had the same experience. Two window regulators, RMS, wheel bearings, valve springs (preventative maintenance, but also for a cam if I’m honest).

I must admit, I miss mine on occasion. It was impractical in so many ways, but it was a blast to drive. Plenty of pick up and stuck to the road pretty well.

Just trying to save everyone from buying a B7 S4 while exerting the least possible amount of energy.

So all you have to do is drop close to 3 grand on coilovers to make something that is unreliable, less unreliable, just to have something that is less enjoyable than a stock M3?

Guess I’ll have to be the voice of reason again.

Oh, Elon. Elon, Elon, Elon.

Frickin’ Tesla

This is a joke, right? A bad attempt at an inappropriate joke. Right???

Toyota made a Chaser in the 90's that made 280hp and weighed less than a B5 S4. Most everything about the Chaser was bullet proof.

RCR fact checker (nitpicking):

I was flabbergasted when I test drove an IS350 F-sport to find that none of the ones at my dealer had memory seats or remote engine start. It’s just insane.

Long term is the goal, which will be new for me because the longest I’ve held on to a car was 3 years, and that was a Z06. The hard part is avoiding doing more to the car. The chassis is very very similar to a V36 (G37), but strengthened to some degree (torsional) and given better aero (drag coefficient and engine and

It looks like this piece is mechanical, not motor assisted, and essentially just supports the weight of the arms. So it does what the squirrel is suggesting already. So apparently his understanding isn’t fundamentally wrong.

The piggy backs by burger don’t leave any traces of a tune, which is part of the reason why they’re popular with BMW’s. Even a flash by Ecutech supposedly doesn’t add a flash count to the ECU apparently.
