How do you differentiate between throttle position and load?

Reaction time doesn’t impact ET in any way. This is a common misconception. You can red-light or sit at the start for 5 minutes after the lights, the timer doesn’t start until you actually go.

The Mazdaspeed protege is pretty sweet, but it EATS transmissions. That engine is not at all friendly to the drivetrain, which is a shame because the protege has a nice little FWD chassis.

Fair enough. They are pretty neat. Shame they never fitted a manual to the AWD version. Wonder if you could fit a 4wd manual from a Rav4 and then swap the 1zz for a 2zz in one of the AWD versions of the Matrix.
