I’m curious if internal artist at valve may be driving this change. Perhaps these groups of “freelancers” were making enough to create internal competition for talent that valve made the change to keep their full-time positions more appealing.
If it helps, the fact they are letting people outside of valve make any money off valve games, which is pretty unique among developers. Perhaps valve intended this to support hobbiest.

I’m having more and more a difficult time taking reviews like this seriously. Kotaku and io9 have expressed hatred towards this and other movies before they’ve been released and ultimately I think you saw the movie you wanted to, one you hated. It’s different enough that I stopped playing it. I was expecting the game from Witcher 3 but felt like I got the same shell of a game but the meat was different. I didn’t care for it much.
