I wonder if the alcohol kept it palatable?
So true, even the likes of Da Vinci and Mozart essentially relied for most of their careers on their benefactors and patrons.
Why would they want to.....?
I don’t know, look at those cold, unfeeling eyes......
Bustillo and Maury are uneven, but Leatherface was an interesting attempt in trying to do something else with the formula, and their 2011 movie Lurid is very diverting. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1727516/?ref_=nm_flmg_wr_6
Very aggressive titles. Get Out. Nope. What’s next? Bugger Off?
Magnificent. I must admit the last person I ever expected to see on The Takeout was Windsor Davies. But oddly I remember his phrase being ‘Oh dear. What a pity. Never Mind’.....
No, no, please don’t take it like that. I certainly didn’t mean that. It’s just I feel that if one takes in a lot of, for want of a better word, ‘media’ over a short time, be it films, TV, music, literature, over a short time, I think you can lose a certain amount of perspective. I think there’s a problem if you go to a film festival for any length of time, in that something which is just marginally better than the average if seen on day one becomes a vastly better proposition by day eight or nine because you’ve probably sat through so much disappointing or plain bad / boring stuff in between.
Night Of The Comet is a sheer delight, and for those needing another end-of-the-world countdown pic the underrated Miracle Mile is still a startling and very engaging watch. And keep watching to the very end of the credits.
“I’m sorry, sir, we are out of everything.... except for this large bag of white powder to my right. Could be flour, MSG, plaster of Paris or meth. Who knows?’
If that’s the future of space travel I’m disappointed.... ‘These are the voyages of the starship Bellend.....’
The wonderful Matthew Inman, the cartoonist known for The Oatmeal, has an amazing and fascinating page about Mantis Shrimp....
Yes, but only after a huge gunfight in a moodily-lit warehouse.
‘Not much there’ is the perfect description for Blomkamp.
It can pair up with this -
Thank you, Lillian, I believe we’re really making progress. Same time next Thursday?
Stinking drunk? Try this!
