For some reason, Comcast has seen fit to give me Showtime for free. I was even at their B&M store one time and the guy even said “Hmmm... They’re letting you keep Showtime for free”. It’s been two years now.

TBH, I had never heard the original either. I knew Dr. John did it and assumed it was his. The good Dr.’s version is very similar to the original.

Yeah, their band was called “Rockpile”. They only released one album under their name, but essentially were the band on Dave and Nick’s solo records at that time (mid/late 70's).

Saw him last year for his Xmas extravaganza with Los Straitjackets. Epic.
