Rear wheel drive even with good snow tires would be rough in the winter. Def an underrated car tho.

I think George’s suggestion is the most interesting of the Fiesta, and front wheel drive does have some benefits of AWD for snow, so not a bad choice. Surprised no one mentioned an older manual Audi.

Looked at the website, and damnedest thing it was gone! Haha.  guess maybe at that price, for that lovely interior, and presumably with a full warranty- someone thought it was a good deal (not counting reslale).

Ya I’ve bought stuff off e-bay as it’s usually 20-30%+ cheaper— but only buy from brands where I’ve heard the exhaust. Because agree, louder isn’t always better- but it can often be.

The S55 and Jag are so for the win, those cars still look classy, and are often still driven by the “old wealthy” even in those model years. The Rolls too, but you’d spend as much on upkeep says my British mechanic friend.

But a GOOD exhaust lets the car sing, listen to a Ferrari or even a Porsche with a sport exhaust option.

But that’s really how that V8 is meant to sound. It sounds like a Camry without it (ok not that bad but you get it). I always wondered why it was one of the quieter “exotic” sport cars out there.

Honestly, not to beat up on this— but if it’s overly loud you’ll get noise tickets, most aftermarket exhausts don’t exceed certain parameters. Thery’re (aftermarkets) are actually quiter than so manymotorcycles stock, so if you want to hate on something, I’d say hate on that. In fariness, there are some totally

Hope these are very preliminary. Everyone’s comment on it looking Hummerish are spot on, the current GC in the middle is much classier/sophisticated looking.

I know I’m late to this party but even if the improved radar had picked up the truck and slowed- since the truck pulled in front of a fast moving vehicle not sure the breaks could have stopped the car (but hopefully would have slowed it enough to keep the roof intact).

101 is such a strange #, really they never exceeded 101? The old lawyer in me wonders if that was an approximation of speed, to force the issue of a traffic summons, etc. We’ll see. At least they didn’t get cited for reckless (confiscation, trip to jail, etc).

I’ve been on some of these roads and wonder if there wasn’t any traffic to be doing 30-40 less than them.

Re: “Dramatization”. I dunno. To the driver the spider may have seemed that size in that photo. I can see a new horror movie now: “attack of the car flipping spiders”

I’m excited to see what an electric 3 series or 3i perhaps will be all about. Like you mention the i3 drives like a proper BMW but perhaps its looks are too futuristic (and not necessarily in a good way like the i8).

So it does have the older engine, which on 08/09 of the 135 had fuel pump and some other issue with a rattle (that may be related to some carbon issue).

Mine is the 135, but those suggestions on the suspension still sound helpful.

Ya I’ve driven a few of them friends had (they were newer then), so I’m going to assume as good as that engine is- it’s not up to Japanese reliability standards.

It’s a Mazda- so pretty good for reliability right? Or did the rotary make reliavity/maintence a pain?

My latest addition, a nearly decade old turbo charged Bimmer convertible with 60k from my discreniaety fund, and not setting aside much $ for maintenance. Then again my last one which was CPO with BMW care to 100k only needed suspension bushings so maying I’ll be ok......

There is the Car the M division needs to build for all of us!
