A future product map from a Ford presentation published over on CarScoops seems to show a new “on-road performance” crossover slotted between the Escape and Edge crossovers, which may or may not be whatever this future affordable car is. Sounds expensive, to me.

Ford: “By new affordable model, I mean we are going to decontent the Ecosport. Oh, you think that can’t be done and the Ecosport S is already bare bones? Hold my beer and watch this”.

Would this be enough?

Yesterday I showed my 9 year old daughter yesterday’s article about the new Subaru Outback with the new giant tablet in the dash. She thought that tablet was awesome.

I know you meant it in jest, but you do have a good point. The drone ship idea is really cool, but there is still value to having actual people on hand who can adapt to unexpected situations that weren’t anticipated. I am sure there are a large number of merchant sailors in the world who could have figured out a way

MITI is the real-world equivalent of Spectre and SMERSH, but with more money.

I appreciate their enthusiasm, but I think ending US defense sales to Saudi Arabia would only pause things, not stop it. Likely they would have to suspend operations until they find a new partner to sell them weapons. The question is who would?

Interesting piece of trivia. Lead was frequently used in the construction of old church roofs. During times of war many of them would have their roofs taken down so the lead could be used in trebuchet counter weights.

I wonder if he has ever considered raking the fire?

No, not really. That was in direct answer to your question

I feel like they are up to something like the Mercedes-Benz M274 engine, which is a 2.0T that only gets 241hp but gets excellent gas mileage. 23/34 in the C300 and 21/30 in the E300. Still, the outgoing CTS managed 22/30 with the more powerful engine.

The S2000 is a good example, and so is the RSX-S and Integra GSR and Type R before that. And the Mazda MZR from the NC generation of Miata. As well as numerous 4-cylinder Super Sport Motorcycles.

At the end of the day, you don’t drive around hanging 10 feet in front of your car admiring it.  And the LM may be ugly on the outside it’s classy on the inside.

I disagree.  I think Lincoln will survive.  But the cars might not.  We may in the near future see an SUV-only Lincoln.

I know sedans aren’t popular anymore but while they are giving their models real names could Lincoln change MKZ back to Zephyr for at least a year or two before they decide to can it?

The plants wouldn’t stop bitching.

Not available in 2016. If it had been, I might have gone for it. But only if it didn’t push me into larger wheels.

I somewhat disagree there. Having some oomf for passing is nice on the highway. Try driving from Dallas to Chicago in a Nissan Versa Note (wife’s car).
