The odd thing is that the V8 rumble does nothing for me. I personally think it’s obnoxious like a Harley engine. I have always driven 4 cylinder cars and I love 4 cylinder cars. I love the purr and growl of a good 4 cylinder*

Maybe if they made the Focus ST in a 2 door with rear wheel drive. But they don’t.

I won’t lie. I would totally have bought a Lincoln Mk IX if it were available. I mean I basically bought a 2016 Ford Thunderbird.

If for whatever reason I were to need a full size 3 row family car, I would pick a Lincoln MKT ecoboost.

Note that Ford now recommends premium for the V8 as well.  I can’t remember when they made that change, but the latest Mustangs now say “premium recommended for peak performance” for the V8 as well.

If you look at the numbers, the Ecoboost is only 170lbs lighter. So about a 5% weight reduction for a 30% drop in power. So yeah, it’s slower. We all knew that.

I think that at 310hp it really is plenty fast for street use.
