Let’s not kid ourselves on this either. There are certainly parking rules that are nothing more than a money grab. I don’t think this is one of those times though; street side is for visitors and garage is for workers/residents. It makes sense to me.
It’s even possible that this is safe. Equipment is operated remotely all the time. Equipment that is many times larger than this Tesla. Maybe a button on the keyfob is a legitimate e-stop that meets all the standards for redundancy and error checking that are required for this application. I would have to review the…
My complaint is that moving a 4,000 lbs object remotely without being physically near some sort of e-stop makes me very queasy.
We all hate parking rules and parking tickets and meter maids, but can you imagine what cities would be like if anyone could park wherever they want, whenever they want, and however long they want? It would be chaos. Parking enforcement may be socially shunned, but I’ll be damned if they aren’t necessary.
Hello understeer.
As I said to Jason Spears in another thread, while maybe it doesn’t make sense to stick a teen in a GIANT truck like a Suburban it also isn’t the best idea to go for a Mitsubishi Mirage either. A good 3,000 to 3,500 lbs mid sizer would do the trick. For example, an Accord. A fine balance between size, safety, and…
I disagree in part. I don’t think it’s necessary to put kids in giant cars like Suburbans, F-150's, F-250's, Expeditions, Grand Cherokee, etc. But maybe it’s not the best idea to stick them in a Mitsubishi Mirage either. A good 3,000 lbs to 3,500 lbs car should be adequately safe, like an Accord or an Optima or some…
That boring Acura RDX? Bad.
I wonder if it’s possible that English isn’t his first language. Everyone here is saying “white dude”, but he sorta looks light-skinned Cubano to me. And I did a little digging. Sayoc is a Filipino name apparently. I suspect his ancestry may not be so cut and dry, and really whose ancestry is? It’s slightly possible…
This raises so many questions. Starting with, but not ending with, where did he get a section of portable bridge to tow around?
5,000 lbs. It’s a little slim, but not bad. It’s adequate for smaller boats under 21 feet, motorcycles, jet skis, the Miata he mentioned, camper trailers under 20 feet, and so on.
Roughly 4 years later and “Berlin to Warsaw in one tank” still makes me chuckle.
I thought he meant that his parking brake was still a hand lever.
Of all people, Robot Chicken did a good and factually accurate depiction of what happened to the Bell 222 after the show wrapped.
