Well, my dislike of it is probably not as edgy as yours. I just think it’s a shit song, and it appeals to our worst, jingoistic instincts. America the Beautiful would be a much more fitting song if you ask me.

I agree. It’s stupid, sort of coerced patriotism. Also, it seems a little too jingoistic for my liking. Plus, as many others have noted, the National Anthem and God Bless America are shitty songs, anyway.
