I bought a 96 Nissan Sentra as a beater car for the winter in 04 in suburban Detroit. Mechanically it was sound, but dirty as hell. I thought it was odd that the steering wheel was black and the outside was brown. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized the brown color was years of dirt, grime and whatever else it

Damn, how bad was the rust on the subframes? Have alot of kms on them? Our old L series was in good shape for Michigan winters until it was totalled. 282k of highway miles between Plymouth and Toledo, OH for a good 5 years.

Beater shopping, oh how I don’t miss this!

With all of the bad press GM has been receiving on recalls and this being a brand new first year run of this model, they should be bending over backwards to a) find out what caused the fire, b) fix the issue on all of the trucks c) make sure Greg is made whole after only 3 months of ownership.

Wow, good catch on the salvage title! The price is crack pot all the way given the age and mileage, but even more so with the title issue.

Wow, I am really surprised this thing is still around. The first Ford my dad bought was a brand new 1982 Escort GLX wagon. I remember the car being constantly at the dealer getting repaired. He was happy when the car was totalled in 1986. He replaced it with a 1983 Olds Cutlass Ciera with the Iron Duke. Good times in

I told my wife that I’m not trading my G8 for an SUV. No way in hell will that ever happen. Doubt I would get one in the future because I like being lower to the ground.

Does anyone find it odd that this dude who works at Taco Bell can afford this car? I mean the used car values are cheap but a daily driver to my job at t bell? Maybe I’m being too critical here. Guess I am glad I sold mine now!

Crazy to think the last Packard rolled off the in ‘56 and today, it still sits idle, whats left of it. I used to drive by the place amazed at how big the place is. Hope some solid plans come together for the complex soon.

If this guy’s job is to be a cabbie or only get from point a to b, then yes get a Camry. If he wants to live a little, get something else like a 6, Fusion or Passat.

When is the list for normal freeway speed limits that no one follows coming out?

I live right by the place in the West Loop. It’s definitely not a place for Lord Stanley thats for sure!

The slide whistle was the icing on the cake. Without it, you have nothing!

Our family had a 2000 L series. It was not the best looking but the car but it was a nearly bullet proof. It lasted for 282k miles until it met it’s untimely dead into the back end of a Camry. I believe it would have gone beyond 300k for sure. Sounds odd but I miss that car!

I knew it, GM rocked this turd list!

GM could be a runaway winner for this poll. They manufacturer some real turds in the 90s. Same could be said for Ford, Chrysler, Hyundai, Suzuki, Daihatsu, Daewoo and Toyota. Remember the Tercel and Paeso?

Donkervoort? Wtf is that? So its a G8 GTO? Sounds like a Pontiac fan

AWD is nice to have but don’t let that change what you want. Definitely invest in a set of snow tires and rims, best money I have spent on my G8. My wife and I are city dwellers and don’t commute to the burbs either so we are a bit spoiled.

Nice work guys! An article in the Detroit Free Press said this...

Amazing shape for its age! Guessing by the headlights, I assume its a mid 70s model? That truck would have rusted out long ago here in the Midwest!
