Try George Dickel! Not bad at all.

Another horrible Tutting while driving catasrophe.

Because people don't really get, or want to get, the concept of punching up vs. punching down.

Paging Hamilton Nolan!

Bis and tris are also, for both men and women, "show" muscles in that they show results quite quickly. So, if you're the type that needs to see results to motivate continued workouts, they're a good area to focus on.

There was a very well informed pacifist movement at the time that would have agreed with you, for sure.

No real threat to the U.S. mainland.

And there's a lot going for that argument. Though in my opinion the potential societal benefits just don't outweigh the sheer loss of freedom.

But I also believe that the kind of existential threat (an invading army of some sort) that would justify something like this is a thing of the past.

I'll probably regret having typed this when whatever foreign military takes over NYC, but nobody wants to invade us.

There's much to that argument. Many liberals have made it. My concern about it is this World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam war were all fought with conscripted soldiers. Of all those wars, the only one I can really staunchly defend would be World War II. I'm on the fence about World War I.

Well, sure, it makes sense. If men can be drafted, why not women? But, let's flip the argument a little. Should men be drafted? Should anyone be drafted? Shouldn't we just not fight wars that our citizens won't volunteer to fight? You can view the exemption of women from the draft as vestige of inequality. Or,

Ugh, homonym not hominem!

Hadn't considered that at all. Guess it just strikes me as a hominem-pun and slightly different than, say "The Tomahawk Chop," which is meant to convey a certain savagery because the whole joke here is just that the two words sound alike.

Okay, I'm nitpicking here. I agree with you about 99%. But you have a problem with "Dress to get Lei'd" as a party theme? Isn't that kind of a timeworn gag?

Remember, you have to have at least one other person in the car with you for this to work. Otherwise, it's... autoeroticism.

You have to put the first first, otherwise the government can stop you from making lists. Otherwise, I'm good. You're right to have the fifth so high.

Fantastic. Now I have to convince myself of this. This article is helpful in that regard. I owe you big time, Adam Dachis.

I'm a huge I Heart Huckabees fan and I loved The Fighter and... didn't realize at all that they were directed by the same guy. I love versatile artists. But, versatility is volatility, in a lot of ways. So, of course he's getting extreme reactions. I think that in a world where, professionally, we are all

Great column. I don't know if the "nagging wife," you mention is the wife of Roma's "customer." But it's a pretty poignant moment when he has to admit to Roma that he doesn't "have the power," to buy the cruddy real estate that Roma has so clearly made him want. You can just imagine that filled with Roma's talks
