My friend grew up in the only Jewish family in Eau Claire, so she had an interesting experience growing up. Now she (and her parent coincidentally) live in a suburb of Milwaukee that’s quite a bit more Jewish than the general population average. Last weekend they had a car menorah parade, for example.

Frankly most of the white folks who live in Milwaukee proper vote Democratic too (looking at the NYT elections map for example), but that’s a pretty self selecting group since most white Wisconsinites are afraid of Milwaukee because they saw a black person once.

Yes things would be very different if we got rid of the majority of the people in the state!

I got married on a 70F cloudless perfect September 17th in Wisconsin. It makes me so mad that just as it starts being nice to run outside, the parks all shut off the bubblers (drinking water fountains). All the festivals stop just when it would be nice to go to one.

I think the inclusion of things like car crashes in the data is problematic. I generally drink at my own house or at a bar a block away. The likelihood of my involvement in an alcohol related car crash is thusly pretty low.

LATE Spring, by which I mean mid- May through pre-solstice June, is glorious. Early spring can eat a bag of dicks.

They make them still, I use them. Natural Care also makes an all cotton applicator free tampon. Applicators just seem ridiculous now.

Part of the answer of course is people getting used to applicator free tampons. They’re more convenient anyway. And yes, I’ve tried a Diva cup. Didn’t work for me.

I live in an old house where I couldn’t even have a dishwasher if I wanted to, but I always wash every dish right after using it and put it in the drainer. “Doing dishes” isn’t even really a thing anymore.
