I don’t think I’ve ever seen a vent hood in a rental in my market; most owner occupied homes don’t have them either unless there’s recently been a major renovation.

That works in some homes, but not studios. On the opposite end, I’ve lived in places with living rooms so large they basically had to be divided into three different areas.

There is no abbreviation for Miss, and no full for Ms.

My nursery was yellow. Nice and gender neutral, goes with almost every other color.

Yes!!! Decor is all white white white and washed out color right now. I’ve seen Apartment Therapy label an apartment colorful because there was a bright Dutch oven in the kitchen. White everywhere else. I have purple walls, a purple Dutch oven, and bright yellow accents to match the living room. THAT is colorful.

In general I agree that home decor is in a particularly blah phase right now.

I live 2 miles from work. I can walk or ride my bike most days, and if I do drive, it’s a nearly instantaneous commute. Sure I live in a small old house, but it’s woooooorth it.

Look in an older neighborhood? Best thing about Victorians is that they’re squarish and have ROOMS. I actually like not being able to see dirty dishes from the living room.

There were some chicken pox vaccines available at that time, so you may have gotten one, but it wasn’t widely available in the US until 1995. I was born in ‘84 and definitely not vaccinated against chicken pox, though my parents vaccinated me against everything else.

Chicken pox vaccine wasn’t available until 1995, so most adults today weren’t vaccinated against it, but most of us gained immunity by catching it as kids.

Purple, it’s cool and warm at the same time and really calming. In my tiny bathroom, there is white tile and beadboard but the upper couple of feet of the walls and the ceiling are painted a fairly dark/electric purple that’s hard to describe, but actually makes the room seem bigger because it has such depth.

Rose flavored Turkish delight!

No a good Swiss is all about that subtle nutty flavor.

Yes, that’s been clarified now. I did once visit the part open to tourists but obviously most of it is quite different. I apologize for my ignorant comment.

That’s a good point

Bien sur.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but were they wearing shorts and tank tops or something? Landlords in Milwaukee are only required to keep apartments at 55 degrees in winter. 59 seems awfully warm for hypothermia if you’re wearing a sweater or anything.

Also some do it to deliberately harm the health of people who travel by bicycle. Not kidding.

This is a long time tradition amongst my people (archaeologists). I’m alternatingly happy and sad that it’s catching on in the wider world.
