Yes, it’s rather nebulous. The strength of a workplace strike is that if we all strike, they can’t fire us all. There’s some protection there. It was obvious that not everyone was going to participate in this strike, so it made people feel vulnerable.

The less you have to lose and the more you have to gain, as they say.

Yeah, I don’t bother showering if I’m going straight home either. I ride my bike, so there’d be no point.

I work at a university, and my building is directly adjacent to the rec center/gym. So, I go there. Sometimes during lunch if that’s what works that day, and I shower. 100% it is only old people who work at the uni who shower at the gym. The students just scurry back to their dorms.

The one exception to this is getting tiny bits of water in an unfinished basement in an old house occasionally. That’s normal, and trying to prevent it will cause more damage than good.

1. Get a realtor. 2. Remember that you only need one. 3. Buy less house than you can afford.

To each their own.

Unless we organize. Which we apparently must. There are, in the end, more of us than there are of them.

But... bow ties are cool.

Yep, in a lot of cases you are supposed to hang out in a cemetery and enjoy them, walk the dog, have a picnic, etc. That’s not desecration, that’s celebration. It of course varies by religion, but Catholics love it when people hang out in cemeteries.

Most of the cemeteries I’ve ever been in didn’t have ANY security. Don’t usually need it. Only very big, and currently in-use ones, in urban areas would be staffed regularly, and certainly not a night. Generally just lock the gates.

Amen - all of my teachers, male and female, made me feel like I could study/learn/do whatever I wanted to, regardless of being a girl. I took AP computer science, and I was the only girl in the class. I got the “best student” award at the end of the year (our school gave one out a year in each subject - other students

Honestly, I think most Europeans are smart enough to know that most of the Americans who actually travel overseas probably aren’t Trump supporters (unless they’re super, super wealthy). I studied abroad in England during the GW Bush presidency, and I’m from TEXAS of all places. No one assumed I supported him

Right? I’m supposed to go to Canada at the end of March, but we will see if that actually happens. Although being stuck in Canada wouldn’t be the worst, still my family will be in the US.

Apparently there are *still* a few “homes for unwed mothers” out there. There is one in North Dakota.

Park Rangers are the best members of law enforcement. Fact.

I’m a socialist who’s never been opposed to guns. Hunting is the most ethical way to procure meat, and also I don’t like the idea of all the weapons being in the hands of the State (because of a potential situation like the one we’re in).

That’s just it - with the modern state war machine, there’s very little chance a violent rebellion could succeed. But it may happen anyway. God knows that I’ve been thinking about my fist in a Nazi’s face lately, and I actually have quite a bit to lose yet.

Right? CAN YOU HAVE YOGURT?

Fair enough, I like some salami from time to time.
