I don’t think we should hide things from out past. Shine a light, own it, have a conversation, learn from it and move forward. Pretending something didn’t happen because it makes us uncomfortable allows things to grow cancerously in the shadows. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

There is a tendency nowadays to stimulate/entertain kids 24/7 with activities, playdates, sports, etc. I’ve noticed that my kids are happier, have more concentration in school and do better in general when they have some downtime.
