Interest rates do matter if you’re in business. We’re talking about bigger picture things beyond credit cards (which, by the way, only a fool would carry) like mortgages, business lines of credit, etc. 

It matters a great deal when dealing with banks for business, lines of credit, refinancing, mortgages, etc. I would never sign up for a pointless credit card just to save a couple of bucks on what is most likely a discretionary and ultimately useless purchase.
