Everyone always says that album is dated because of the Bush stuff, but I think musically it was about 10 years ahead of its time.

It was Yuri Gurka, the Russian fella who got stuck in purgatory. One of his many crimes was framing that poor sap in the opening scene for murder before he presumably fled scot-free to the States or another country and got linked up with Varga.
I thought "I hate waste" was just another of his lies. The guy binges and purges. He literally lives to waste.
"It seems clear that a lot my structural criticisms of this season were misplaced."
I saw him 3 times at smaller local shows before he “broke”, and in the span of 2 years he did 3 completely different sets. Not one joke repeated. Honestly I wonder if every show isn’t a somewhat unique experience. I know he did the German guy thing from the Third Man vinyl for a while, but I honestly can’t name one of…
Richard and Linda…two birds with one stone.
Life used to be so hard.
I've been using Tweetbot for so long that I honestly have no idea what the regular interface has looked like for years. The official app is garbage and always has been. I don't even use Twitter that often but gladly pay the folks at Tweetbot to make it worth my time when I do.
I used to use the Codec for incoming call and the "!" noise for text messages. It was great.
I bet she did!
Exactly this. This is Twin Peaks minus the network suits. I honestly can't believe people expected anything different. Lynch almost walked away until he had the budget and the creative control he needed to do it right.
My guess is the halfway point, but I could be wrong. Just a gut feeling. I really thought 5 or 6 early on, but I like that they're letting it breathe. If the scenes weren't so well done I'd be frustrated, but it works.
I feel like a lot of the celebrity cast members have been pretty easy to peg. As soon as I saw Michael Cera on the cast list I said aloud "that's gotta be Andy and Lucy's son." Ditto for Laura Dern. I feel like if Lynch had his druthers we wouldn't have known any of the cast in advance.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I don't feel like we have any fan service happening at all. If anything, David Lynch is withholding (look at him, getting off) in a very big way. We haven't even had but one moment of the classic score, FFS.
Love this review. It nails down exactly how I'm feeling about the new series. I read all the theories on reddit, and even chime in from time to time. But when it comes down to watching it, I just let it all wash over me. I'm not actively looking for clues, but I also feel like I've settled into it's rhythm enough to…
On the opposite side of that argument, I feel like Lynch is giving me everything that I expected this season to be. I feel like the people that hate this revival are the same people that hated Fire Walk With Me. This is what Twin Peaks looks like when Lynch/Frost don't have network suits breathing down their neck. And…
I don't think that we're meant to wonder if they'll get shot. Aside from Piscatella, there were no casualties during the raid, as has been pointed out during the review.
Hawley didn't direct this episode, though. He only directed the premiere, and has become progressively more hands-off as the series evolved. He was the sole writer in season 1, had a staff in seasons 2 and 3, and eased up on directorial duties as well while he was launching Legion and other projects.
CARSICK!
The content of the review actually suggested a lower grade than he gave it, though. I kinda get the feeling it was bumped up to avoid incessant bitching about the grade in the comments.
