I wanted Shelly to be in it more because she’s so hot.

Lucy shooting Mr. C was very reminiscent of Andy shooting Jacques Renault in the season 1 finale.

Maybe it’s Baby’s First Critical Analysis to suggest that Twin Peaks: The Return is an extended meditation on both itself and the original run of episodes, but that’s the most coherent interpretation I have so far. I guess the only insight less piercing than that would be “Dale Cooper symbolically represents the

I’m getting just...a little weepy knowing that TP:TR will be ending tonight. I missed the original series first time around because of work scheduling, and caught up with it on VHS about 5 years later. I love it, and became a confirmed David Lynch fan with Mulholland Drive, which is where I decided that he was

Can we start a reaction thread to tonight’s Twin Peaks: The Peakening finale here? Tuesday is so far away—I can’t keep two hours worth of crazy shit in my head that long!—and I’ll likely be too exhausted from work to comment.

A common and very simplistic narrative. For those who enjoy Lynch’s work it’s been a terrific ride. Not everything is necessarily geared toward “everyone”, for those who dislike Lynch/Frost’s approach there are many other television shows to choose from. Not every piece of popular culture is designed for mass appeal,

“I have an uninformed opinion, which pleases me.”

I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen on TV.

If by “joke”, you mean one of the most challenging, creative, thrilling, satisfying, artistically pure seasons of television ever created, than yes, you are correct. I really think The Return will expand what it’s possible to do on television (namely more slow paced/arty series), though it’s influence may take a bit

Sounds like you’re projecting your cynicism.

It’s too bad that you’re missing Lynch’s masterpiece.

Unlike the original series, which completely wiffs keeping interest in the ongoing plot threads after Laura’s killer is revealed in “Lonely Souls”,

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that after the release of a new David Lynch movie. Opinions are typically split between “genius” and “joke/mess”, then the latter group slowly diminishes with every year that passes.

I’m sorry you don’t like it. A lot of us think it’s just great. Not every episode is amazing by my metric, but the overall ride has been fantastic.

For anyone that is both super excited (we get to finally see the final chapter!) but also super bummed (it is the final chapter )about the finale of twin peaks, I do have one bit of good pre-finale news to deliver:

She was great in that movie with Clive Warren

Someone mentioned on Reddit that (POSSIBLE SPOILERS EVEN THOUGH IT’S JUST A THEORY) Audrey may be trapped inside that one booth that keeps popping up in scenes involving just random characters talking about things we don’t understand (and Billy), like how Josie got trapped inside a doorknob.

She’s been in a dark place.

When Audrey walked into the Roadhouse, I yelled at my TV “Eat that, Internet! It’s not a coma!”
